AAAARGH!!! Why am I broke!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by sparkydeluxe, Sep 6, 2007.

  1. Ok here's the dilemna. Had my eye on this 54 Ford F100 shortbed for over a month now. Guy originally had it on craigslist for $1500. At the time I had the money but talked myself out it after learning there was no ***le.

Got a call today from the guy saying that I was the only one that actually came out and looked at it and that if I wanted it and could get it out of his yard TONIGHT he would let it go for $300!!! DAMMIT!!!

I have $340 to last me 2 weeks, and don't forsee anytime that I'll get to actually work on this thing for the next few months! On top of that I've talked myself out of taking on anymore projects for a while since I got my last one running. But the truck already has a 289 dropped in, body is straight as a pin, and there's very little rust. What do I do????

See if he'll take a photocopy of your license, utility bill, and 100$ now and you'll pay him the other 200$ within a month....cant hurt to try...

    I guess you'll be visiting the blood/sperm bank>>

  7. Yep, it's a kick in the stones but if $340 is all you have in the world hang on to it. As someone whose been through tough times before and is having some now I can tell you this: Dinner on the table under electric light looks better than a project in the driveway.

If your gas tank is empty and you use more then $20 per week in fuel to get to work, you have to p***. If your tank is full and you can get by with $20 per week in fuel then you have a chance. Oatmeal for breakfast and Ramin Noodles for dinner for two weeks.:D

You might want to offer to cut a few neighboors lawns, weed or rake for extra cash this weekend.

Don't worry, if you can't swing it this time around, wait. It's not like we're running out of old cars, there'll always be another one.

Just buy it. If you try, you can get by on $40 bucks. I mean, seriously, get out and pick up some cans or make a trip to the s**** yeard or something. THeres always a way to eat, but a f100 for 300 bucks, thats not always around!

  18. Is there a can and bottle deposit in your state? I'd be collecting cans if I had to.. or drive around on garbage day picking up s**** metal.

Heck, if you have too many projects, take a day, evaluate, and sell something. Then you have money -

  19. Ok so I’m doing what seems to be the right thing. I’m gonna p*** the deal off to a club member. That way the truck isn’t going to waste, and might actually become something. On top of that my *** is out of boiling water, and I can sleep at night knowing that a deal like this didn’t go to some other ***hole that would just turn it before it got to the driveway.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

And who knows, maybe a few months from now I can talk him out of it again. Either way this seems like the best option. Thanks for everybodys help. All is right in the world.

  20. Except for the fact that I have no idea how that purple face made it in to that post.

You probably spell checked by cutting and pasting from MS Word, right? I've done it a few times.

Buy the damn thing! You will end up spending twice that later trying to find the same deal. Live on peanut ****er for a few days and do your best to find a few parts to sell off or something.
