Thanks @manitouguy , I am a DIY kind of guy. When I decide to do something that I haven't done before, I research how to do it. My whole intent on these videos is to show the DIY guys and gals the process I take, so they can see that even an average guy like myself can accomplish something if they want it bad enough. Your comments encourage me that people find them helpful. I know it's a long process, but keep going on you project, the finished car will be worth it.
Thanks for the great thread Aaron. I'm just starting the same process on a 30 Coupe, and have enjoyed and learned from all of your videos.
Car is looking great Aaron, the poly primer is the way to go saves a lot of time getting it straight.
Looking forward to the new videos. I’ve watched some of them over and over. Learning little details and answering questions that are hard to word/ ask online but so easy to answer seeing it in video form. I’ve said it more than once but the videos are fantastic and very very appreciated
Whew!!!, now that was a lot of work. I'm glad I decided to do it though, I think it brought the car up another level.
Another level is right! Man that’s fantastic. I’d pop on some 46 Ford hub caps with the dash’s painted the same red ...maybe some very minimal cream/off white stripes dang I dig that!
Nice job Aaron! I have been checking in occasionally, but you must have made a run at the end, leaving me in the dust! Mine is mostly back together after the painting. Your videos brought back those fond memories! I did all the panels and carpet inside, but have some lag time with the rear glass just now getting cut. Oh, and two bathroom remodels. I did paint an old claw foot tub in gloss epoxy, does that count? I used the temporary booth to do all the small trim pieces, like window garnish, so that needs doing too. I like your creativity on the color! I did that on a Volvo 1800ES, in matte BRG. Somewhere, I got to putting in dabs of the matting agent to get the right shade, and lost track of the formulation! Real scientific process. But that red is striking and unique! Good job on a cool ride! Surprised you could paint in the outdoors this time of year in the PNW! Thought humidity would be too high, let alone the low temps. Good show working with what you have! If you want to test drive to the north, your welcome to cruise on in! John
Absolutely beautiful Aaron!!! That's one heck of an accomplishment. I would be scared to death to try and paint a car. You nailed it. Well done!! Great video as always !!! Congratulations!!!
Hoods polished and in place now. I also installed a hood hold up and a dual USB port so I can charge my phone, Bluetooth speaker and GPS Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Yeah, I've picked up several vintage heaters, with the plan to convert them over into discret Audio housings. Prolly never get around to it, but I like to dream up neat ideas for them.
That is too cool! Looks like a ton of fun was had by all. The coupe looks great out there. I see Marty Strode was there with his Dirty Ernie track roadster, and the belly tanker made an appearance as well, didn't see either of them run though. Thanks for sharing, it was a great way to kick off my morning.
