I thought the same, then I watched the next video lol. I'd been studying that stuff for weeks and sat it aside because it intimidated me. Watching those two videos I feel totally confident in knocking it out now
looks nice... great work... love A coupes... i trimmed off the lower lip under the rear window, made a panel to screw on from the inside of the car, cut a 5" vertical slot centered in the rear window, welded an A handle to a bolt under the steel window channel [not shown], then bolted a 5/16" wire deadbolt to the panel... deadbolt pulled back = window 1/2 way down... handle pushed up then deadbolted = closed... pix of 2 different coupes...different brand hockey sticks, they are perfect to make the sidewood long enough to let the window drop... xxx
Aaron, looks great, thank you for taking the time to document everything and especially the videos. I hope to be shortening the torque tube on my very similar project soon and I found your video very helpful. but I wasn't sure about the middle bearing. do you just eliminate it since it's much shorter than the original? or is it still needed? thanks Scott
Catdad, no finish date set. Visionary, I am using the Tardel/Bishop book on how to build a traditional Ford hot rod. In the book they say to just knock out the center bearing after the torque tube has been shortened. I was going to put mine in, but when I tried to put it in it didn't fit in the bearing race correctly, so I just left it out.
Great job! I really like the videos you do, makes me feel as though I'm right there with you. Sometimes I want to jump in and help - hand you the wire brush, or something!
