History Abilene Tx in 1948

    Here's a pic of my daughter in laws grandfather in 1948. He was 16 and this was his first car. He lived in Abilene Texas. He wasn't ever really a car guy. I just thought this pic was so cool. Sadly, he p***ed away last year.

    Well, he was a hot rodder. That is a cool picture and he had a cool car.
    In those days that was a 100.00 dollar car.

    Cool picture. I'm guessing the car scene here in Abilene wasn't any better back in 1948. Has anyone seen the Quantum Leap episode in Abilene that has the Shoebox with flames?
