Having viewed the pictures taken at the recent event, I was wondering how tech is handled? Seems like there were quite a few t buckets and roadsters running without roll bars. Not complaining, just wondering how it was handled. The pictures reminded me of the days of my youth, when a roll bar that went to your shoulders was really used as a support for something else.
I think the only tech was, "If you're drippin', you ain't shippin'...." No, wait, that was something else... Same concept though.
Loose, would be one way to put it. It's a little more stringent if you're in the 10s, but in the 20s, its no big.
Tech guy stuck his head in the window and asked if there were seat belts. I said yes, and we even had a helmet. He gave a thumbs-up. That was it.
He was looking for puke cans and seat belts for the most part. Saw my slicks and asked if I had a driveshaft loop.
Checked mine over as well. He was walking through the staging lanes, so some might not have even known they were teched. They are more strict on "faster" cars.
64 eh....Well my 65 looks like it's done in 65. Small block 4 speed etc....So 51 Henry J's are OK with the latest stuff including Wings. Very Traditional
Oh man.... I think it was the fastest car there, though. There were a couple '65/'66 Galaxies running this year, but I'm not sure I'd count on that happening next year. Malcolm
The reg says that the STOCK car class is for vehicles made before 1965. It also says to leave your MODERN cars with tubs and wings at home. It doesn't mention old cars with tubs and wings. Thank God cuz they were some serious entertainment...
