Projects AC condenser in 31 Chevy sedan

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by CapeCodBob, Sep 7, 2015.

  1. I'm not sure if I have asked this before.
Have a stock rad (pressurized) and am thinking of AC. Where to mount condenser. Can't go in front of rad. Possibly behind but doubt would work well. Read here that someone put theirs in front of gas tank on a 29 Chebby truck.
Where have you put yours or ideas that will work. Thanks, Bob.

Can mount it under floor with a single or dual electric fans. I have a Custom Auto rad. and the condenser is same dimension as the rad. core and is in front of the rad. It just moves the rad. further back in the shell.

  3. You could mount it like on a Corvair. on top of the engine...LOL
What size are you going to use? lay it under the trans for air flow, 2X^ under the floor, vent the trunk floor or spare tire well and use fans. under the rear of the car (long hoses though). Millions of car have the condenser in front of the radiator, just add an extra fan......
