I bought a couple of Motorcraft oil filters from a "big box" store. When I went to pay, the clerk opened up the boxes and checked the filters. "What the?????" He said he caught guys putting the "expensive" K & N filters in the cheaper brand boxes.Takes all kinds.

  2. lol sorry but ill take a AC Delco or a Motorcraft, or a Mopar oil filter over a junky high dollar K&N Filter.

I was talking about Autozone in general, I've had parts go bad on me while the car was in storage over the winter, and most of the people that I've dealt with there didn't know the first thing about cars.

No it don't but we got 'em. My peeve is when some clown wants the receipt and riffle through my **** after I've paid and am heading out the door. If they have issues with their checkout clerks, that's their problem not mine.

Yeah, like Costco. You wait in line to check out. Spend $300, then you have to wait in line at the exit door at "U.S. Customs" for them to look at your receipt and go through your cart. Irks the hell out of me.

My local O'Reilly's staff opens every box in front of you at the counter so they and the buyer see what is being sold. They also do a side by side comparison with your used part if you bring one in. Lots of internal and external theft in retail.
Now that CA has a "bring your own grocery bag" (or buy new ones @.10 cents each during checkout) at grocery stores, shoplifting has become rampant. Thieves are filling carts with groceries and rolling right out the door w/o paying as it's tougher visually to see what's been paid for.

Had that just happen at Home Depot. I replaced a dripping hose bibb in the yard. Wife calls me at work next day asking if I left the garden hose on. She woke up to a front yard full of water. No is my answer, and I leave work to head home. The new bibb seal had blown and was running @50%! I also notice the T handle is not br***, but br*** plated plastic! Slap the old bibb back on. Write "DUD" on the new bibb with a big sharpie and return it the next weekend when I'm picking up a new bathroom faucet.
New faucet leaks upon install. Take it out and back to Home Depot and ask to speak to a manager. Get a refund then ask him to walk back to plumbing to show him how they've cheaped out on plumbing supplies. I show him that their braided stainless service lines have been replaced by braided plastic that's been plated to look like stainless. From 5' away you'd swear they were stainless. The price is the same as the stainless ones they just discontinued so it's pure profit. I reach into the hose bibb bin to show him those and yep, there's my returned bibb with "DUD" written on it. The return clerk threw it right back into the bin. Tell the manager he's lost my plumbing business and maybe all of my business. Ask him how long he thinks that plastic T handle will last out in the weather before it snaps off? He was at least taking notes to send over to their buyer.
Head to the local True Value and get quality br*** and stainless hardware for less than H/D.
