...not too happy. I spent good money on the 8mm pro stock plug wires...Im straightening/cleaning somethings up for the show tomorrow (since my truck isnt even half finished, lol) anyhow, In the process, Ive pulled some plug wires from the distributor, and two of the cables have pulled away from the connectors. And Im not pulling from the cables, Im pulling from the boot, so its not like Im being careless...and besides, I spent the extra money for the better parts, and I shouldnt have to worry about being delicate. Am I wrong for thinking this, and does anyone else have these issues...? Cause Im pretty pissed/had to go inside to keep from breaking shit...lol

Accel should be a four letter word. Most of what they sell is junk, and when you find out for sure that it is junk they wont stand behind it.

I've had bad luck with Accel plug wires and coils myself. I use the Belden line from Napa on everything I own and they work great.

Go with Taylor, Mallory, or MSD. Accel stuff is not (IMHO) "better parts", as you put it. It's simply more expensive.

Spent good money on their "High Temp Wires", burned just like the cheap wires.

i always take white lithium grease and spray inside the boots before i put them on that way the boots dont stick to the plugs or cap and they come off nicely!

  9. Sorry about your deal, dont forget in the future to pick up a small tube of dielectric grease, available in any auto parts store, to put all around your terminal ends and boots. This will all but eliminate your sticking probs and seal off from water for you guys not running a hood. Cheap fix that works well. Dont forget about MOROSO wires, for many many years these where the wires all others were compared too, decades and thousands of Winston Cup miles on those wires, me and my dyno and most others I know in the biz too. On July 4th it saddens me to rag on a AMERICAN biz, but Accel customer service on a scale of 1 to 10 is negative 40, even when your a very successful race shop.

What is a good wire for heat problems? I have two wires on my Sanderson headers that nearly touch the header and have shorted out. Short plugs will not fix my problem.

Woven fabric spark plug boots and spark plug wire sleaves will fix the burnt wire problem. They come in many colors. DEI is the Co. who makes the best. Summit sells them. NAPA also sells boots and sleaves. The sleaves also work well on the starter wires and on fuel lines to cut down on heat. I use the DEI on all my customers cars.
