Accelerator retrn spring install ('38 Ford)?

    Can someone tell me how to remove my broken accelerator return spring and install the new one? I could cut the original on off, but cannot get the new one on.

  2. looks like you could work it around those 2 90 degree corners. or heat the bottom one or use a different spring somewhere else. you're right "I'm no help"

    I did this for the car in my avatar not long ago (mid summer maybe?) - I did it just as noname said. Just takes a bit of patience ....

    You can get it on there, just have to spin it.

    Used a cut off wheel to remove the broken spring, and with some finagling and patience I was able to bend it around each corner. Installed... no more stuck throttle!!! Thanks guys.
