    Well, it started last night.
At about 3am, my wife and I get a call from our daughter. Her and her boyfriend had gone to stay the weekend with some friends, BBQ, video games, etc etc. Anyway, she calls to say that they were going to come home early and her truck wouldn't start.

So Laura and I hop in the car and head out there. Well, it's 30 miles outside Austin in a little town called Creedmoor. Not a lot out there, including lights to work on a truck by. So, we just pick up the kids and decide to go back for the pickup today since it's inside a gate.

I take my usual "suitcase toolbox" and a set of cables and head back out there this afternoon. Well, I get there and turns out she just had a bad connection on her battery terminal (thank heavens).
I happen to notice when I got there, some fat fenders behind some trees on the back property.

So once her truck was running, I went to go snoop around.

The following pictures are what I found. I did speak to (who I think might have been, or a friend) the owner of them and he said that they were being kept to restore, but if I was interested, come by in a week.
I want to add, that now that I think more about it, (since there were alot of people there), I may have been talking to a friend of the actual owner, but at anyrate, I don't see why he wouldn't part with at least a couple of them.

Also, every one of them had their complete interior and dashes. The '55 Chevy even had the original radio still.

    Enjoy!

Crap! I know right where those are! My Buick was being used in a film that was shot down the road from there.

I found a '42 Ford PU kinda in the same way, was looking for a 218 Dodge and a guy sent me to the edge of the world, when i got there he didn't have a 218/230, but I spied his PU sitting under a shed.

A grand later and a quick run back to town for a U-haul...and I own a '42 Ford PU.

He had 3 old school buses too, one of which I know was from the '50s, but I wasn't prepared for "snoopin" so I was in shorts and the chiggers were bad enough.
    Next time I'll go 'prepared'.

Glad ya enjoy it guys. It seems like I rarely do any of the "finding" so it was nice to be one of the ones to share this for a change.

We stopped by to see those a couple years ago when I lived in Buda and had a shop in Lockhart. Not much in that area, but it's pretty cool what is hidden behind the thick trees & brush.

They all look pretty solid,,, at least from the pics they do.

Cool find! I stumbled across an old Stude pick-up myself this morning that looks very solid. Gonna go back and see what's up with it later this week.

Notice how far those are sunk in the ground? They've been there a long tim and they will be there a whole lot longer. "I'm gonna fix those up one day", mark my word, your wasting your time and all you'll accomplish is burning up some dinosaur juice going back.

Ha! Ha! Great find. You never know what you"ll find in Creedmore. A friend I know that lives out there always seems to find the good***** out there and re sells it for good $$$.

I remember another friend who has property out there after a rain storm found a flip nose glass 57 chevy front end floating in the creek.Talk about a good catch!! lol!

I didn't crawl under them or open any hoods, but looking inside, I didn't see any holes in the floors. The wooden beds were rotted mostly out, but the rails were still there, as was some of the deteriorating wood.
And though some have busted glass, the glass is still UP, so none of the interiors are exposed to rain/weather/etc.

If you look close enough through the brush, there's also a '75 Chevy Nova sitting next to the blue '55.

I wouldn't get too excited about a few old farm trucks and a 4 door 55. The panel could have some possibilites though. Maybe you could sell the sheetmetal on the 55 if it's any good. But from the looks of the place the guy has a thriving restoration business and I am sure he has "plans" for all of them. Ya right?

that's not weed...wait, how would I know? Uh, nevermind, mispent youth:D

That panel looks like someone has intentions for it. I sure hope so, it's a good lookin' truck.

  29. That's probably a '77ish Olds 98 grille- I drove my mom's mint green one in high school... ugly, but it had a 403(?) with a TH400 and leather/power everything

and the only thing stock that could beat it was a Corvette.

Back to the reality of the thread... I would love to own one of those pickups- nice find!
