You're probably right, but the skirts that John posted do resemble 41 Fleetwood skirts. The sixty-special (body by fleetwood) had many differences from a standard 41 Cad.

Didn’t end up with any rear fenders yet since they were all rougher than I wanted to start with as compared to what I already have. But, did meet a great guy and he gave me some seat springs out of a four door 40 that can possibly be used for parts. And, I was able to buy a few trim pieces and some other misc. parts as well that may come in handy. Anyway, best part was a beautiful view along the road to get there.

One more exciting detail... I have been trying to decide what to put in the car for a motor and figured I had plenty of time to work that out. However, while in New Mexico this week, I learned of a freshly rebuilt Caddy 331 that a friend has. I’m still thinking real hard on that, but I have about convinced myself. If I can just get a Buick sold, pretty sure I will have a Caddy-powered Merc. One piece at a time. :D

Sneak peek of my Caddy motor...all that is left is coming up with the money, paying for it, and then hauling it home. Anyone need a nice Buick?!?! :D

Anyway, I’m pretty pumped about this deal and a Caddy 331 is beyond what I expected I would end up with in the car. More to come on it soon...hopefully. Did I mention I have a nice Buick for sale? :p

Yep, we will talk more Larry. :D I’m honestly still thinking a four barrel will be fine for this car.

You are probably right. Seems kind of crazy to sell a nice, running, low mileage, unmolested car to start with a rusty shell that needs everything. But, I haven’t always been the smartest guy either.

No progress on the Merc other than it does seem that I may have sold a couple of other cars to help get started. The Buick should be headed west soon and an OT vette should also be headed down the road this week.

Oh, and going through Tom Davison’s coverage of LSRU, tripped across more motivation.

A few more inspirational pics from Tom Davison at the Lonestar Roundup. Oh, and the Buick went down the road today, so one less distraction and some money for this and the GMC.

I agree Kurte. Those taillights are what stood out to me on that car and definitely fit the overall look.
