I'm telling you Doug, one you get this car on the road you are going to start that 41 pick up. It is like a voice in your head that won't shut up. Besides a man needs a hot rod and a custom (at least one of each).

So happy for you. Now get it goin'.

Great look Doug. I especially like the fact that you kept it with a STOCK height roof!. I think the proportions are much better that way.................Mike

Awesome. No idea how I missed this one!

Mercs look just as good without a chop as they do with one.

  11. Milestone day here, the Merc has moved under it's own power for the first time since I started! We are not ready for the street yet but it will not be long until we are doing shake down runs. Long time coming but worth every minute.

Looks fantastic. I love unchopped mercs.

What are your plans for interior, tires, hubcaps etc?

    The paint came out beautifully.

Doug , your Merc is really looking good ! Nice to see that you have'nt given up on the long journey to personal satifaction . The car has a great stance .

  19. Looking good! Won't be long now! :)

  20. Took the first drive in the Merc tonight. Had to gas her up and then put a few miles on her. Everything went well and we are close to logging some serious miles.

I see that there is still no back window in it...no luck? Merc looks good. I'm in the color sanding stage on a 50 now.... God I hate color sanding...

  22. Three piece rear window has been a challenge. The next attempt will be with your method Matt, hope for the best. Thanks again for all the help.

  27. Just waiting on a few parts and buttoning up some loose ends. Everything seems to work well together and I hope the shake down miles continue to bring a big smile to my face.

Car looks great Doug, can you explain what you did with the chassis? I didn't see any reference to it but it looks like a mustang 2 front end and a 9 inch rear -end on air bags. I really like the stance and would appreciate knowing how you did it.
