@wide34 you nailed it. The front is a chassis engineering mustang II clip for the 50 Merc and the rear end is a ford 9". Now if I knew the what I know now I would not do this again. Check out EXTREME KUSTOMS 951 678-3520 KUSTOM CAR BUILDER / DESIGNER or EXK on the HAMB. He sells the rolling chassis that will lay frame if you like all read to go. He has sorted it out so you do not need to cut up you body to make it work, just bolt it on and you are ready. You would be hard pressed to do it for less and have it work that good.

 

Thanks for the advice Doug, I'm afraid I have a long way to go before I get to the frame (mine is a real rust bucket) but I'm collecting ideas so I'm ready when I get the body done. I really like what you did.

 

We are on the road now running shake down cruises. It has been a long journey but it has been very rewarding. Thanks to everyone for following along. A big shout out to all the HAMB'ers who helped me out with parts, advice and motivation along the way.

Doug , you've come a long way since that barn photo . Nice to see that you're enjoying all of your hard work .

 

Another big milestone on the 50 Merc, upholstery. Yep the interior is finished and man it came out great.

 

I wondered what happened to this build, nice to see it running with the bugs sorted out.
