I thought I'd post some pics of my half done new VW bug project.. One problem when I drained the oil out of the transaxle these unpleasant metal pcs were present.. Got a good deal($250) on a very clean hardly used transaxle and swapped them out.. I thought I would strip the old transaxle out and use it to mount and test the 40hp engine I took out on the shop floor.. Anyway I also bought a good used 1641cc engine to put in my project.... **clic pics**
This pictures was taken some time in the 80's at Pete Lovely VW in Fife, Wa .. I owned the Single Cab on the left in the picture with the chrome bumpers..
my 67 I owned, there is a picture farther back in the when it had Porsche Gas Burners ( magnesium rim) ..It was repainted by a the guy I sold it to ( shame it had the coolest worn thru black original paint) .. He put in Fuch alloys, changed the black later style Empi GT wheel I had to the wood one... its for sale now on The Samba... sound like it may have a engine issue of sort.. was a fun car
