Black looks great, when it's clean. Which it never is!

Before and after pics after a run at the Baja 1000 (km). Water crossing shot is the year before, first attempt we finished in the top ten out of over 60 entries, next two attempts we failed to finish. To say that race was hard on cars is an understatement.

  19. Here is my good friend’s squareback. It’s just as shiny underneath as on top.

Ive had a few, this was my 65, restored and accesorised, it was featured in Volks World magazine like this.

I drove it like this for a while, then decided to lower it, and added repro brms and red bands. It won its class at the Volks World Show like this

Again, drove it a while, and then decided to give it a 'High School Hot Rod' feel, I always liked Pat Ganahl's louvered hot rod bug, so tried to capture a bit of that, added Porsche 5 stud ARE's, whit bands, louvers, pinstriping, early tailights, sunken rear number plate, Briz bumpers.
All the time it was my daily driver, in all weather, never missed a beat.

In about 1970 a friend had a set of real BRMs he wanted to sell me for $150. Like a fool I didn't but them.
