Technical Adapting 153 intake to Mercruiser 181

  2. Here are the two heads. Doesn't look like it would work too well. The 153 head is on top.

    Bolt patterns look to be the same,
    but some port matching would be
    required.

    It's a good idea and good start but still no good to me as I don't have the early manifolds and unlikely to find any in Australia,,,thanks to Charles Stephens I have a 181 head on its way to Aust. so I will have to fabricate my intake and exhaust extractors ,,,

    going to repower the 34 tub for economic cruising rod ?

    Yea what are you using it for? Just curious. I have a friend with a 100% perfect track T that has a 4 cyl and t5. Probly 65% of the car is fabricated. He chose a 4 and it's a near car

    Hi Scott ,,picked up a 181 Mercruiser for my sons A coupe ,,head was rusted out ,Charlie Stephens sold me a head ,they are a great little engine,,better than an A engine,,my tub still not going but will be soon ,,

    ive got a couple of those engines in the junk pile heads are a problem to find, but cool motor hope it goes well for you putting into the A coupe ,them blokes at west coast f100 spares down your way, had a couple of jeeps with them motors bell housing to fit top loader etc

    Got any intake and exhaust manifolds ? How long ago did the F100 guys have those engines? Is that the place just out of Geelong ?

    mine are boat engines rod ,so I'm in the same spot as, you west coast f100 salvage are the blokes ,was as while ago they had them jeeps wouldn't sell parts at the time but one of the brothers was into them worth a try thinking back it was at the time of one of the geelong nationals

    Thanks Scott ,,I often go past there I'll call in ,,I send heaps of people there for F100 bits ,,I have most bits for the A conversion ,,I can fabricate the manifolds ,,
