Not really. If you go with a Rostra they have a clutch switch you can buy, that's the only difference.
If it's dropping out all the time check your brake light switch. If it is adjusted so it comes on intermittently, every time it comes on the cruise will drop out.
I had the Dakota Digital unit in my deuce pickup with a 5 speed and hanging pedals. The shop that wired the truck did it with both a switch on the brake and clutch pedals so it canceled when you tapped either pedal. My pickup probably worked as good as any. Another thing I always do with a floor brake is have a return spring on the pedal to stop any movement.
Good info even if the thread is pretty old, Cruise is on my list for the 48 even though I have a 5 speed for it. First real road trip is probably going to be to Texas over those long straight roads where having cruise means a lot comfort wise. It's 436 miles to my son and daughter in law's place in Idaho and all but 20 miles of it is 4 lane. You pretty much can't get there from here on two lanes without taking an extra day and an extra couple hundred miles. From there it is 200 miles to Wendover. Then all of my wife's family is in Central Texas with one of her sisters living about 8 miles south of Tardel's shop out in the cedar breaks. That adds incentive to head out to Lonestar as the truck's first serious road trip.
