Addicted to HAMB

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Lucky Strike, Nov 1, 2006.

  1. You're alone.

Well maybe not, I don't have a real girlfriend, I am married to my closest buddy in the world, so maybe that counts as a girl friend. But she don't give me no flak.

Now the addiction part? I guess maybe I am. I way behind on a design project and I'm here. What's that tell ya?:D

  3. Hahaha...you're not alone on that.

If my girlfriend posted, she'd reiterate this verbatim (stolen from the "How Ya Got on the HAMB" thread):

Oh man! Sad to say, you're DEFINITELY not alone! I do very little at work (I'm there right now) and my EX hated this ****! I used to get the stink eye all the time when I logged on.

I knew it was really bad when I was with another HAMBer at a bar the other night and we were talking to a couple chicks and they asked how we knew eachother. We looked at eachother and at the same time went "uhhhhhhhhh...." and sort of chuckled. There was no way for it to sound good and COMPLETELY nerdy! So always leave your addiction out of conversations and definitely out of conversations with females that wouldn't get it... or anyone else that wouldn't get it for that matter... YIKES!

I think we're going to have to start a support group... H.A. HAMBers Anonymous.

Actually the only time I usually have to work is the last hour of the day filling out production reports. The rest of the time I'm usually on the H.A.M.B., Fordbarn, or Ebay. Lucky ******* ain't I. And I get PAID for that ****. Today, I almost had withdrawals when it went down.

My computer was down for about 5 days. I got it back Monday pm. I spent the last 2 afternoons catching up on all the stuff I missed on here and Ebay. I was actually amazed by day 4 how much work I got done that I hadn't gotten around to when I had a computer to keep me busy instead! I usually long on here 3 to 4 times a day for at least a :20 per time. plus an hour or so over on Ebay.

I've always subscribed to so many car mags that I could never keep up with them. Now that I'm on the HAMB all the time, they're REALLY piling up.

The problem is the forum is so damn active, if you miss a day you feel so far behind because there's pages and pages of new threads!

Here's a speed tip for you thread addicts:

    - Install the Firefox web browser
    - Go to the General Discussion page
    - ANY thread that tickles yer fancy, right click, "Open Link In New Tab"
    - Keep scanning threads
    - When you're ready, you have a whole bunch of tabs, one for each thread you want to read

Oh yeah, I can't believe I'm the only one on Bloglines subscribed to the cl***ifieds RSS feed... I don't even have to check out the For Sale section, they come to me!

I was just thinking the same thing about being addicted and had to laugh when i saw this post. I found myself checking the hamb at a restraunt on my cell phone once. Its bad and I too would get more work done if I wasnt reading the hamb so much but you gotta do what you gotta do.
