I need to put power windows in m Olds-Mad project. My 55 had them from the factory, and since I'm building a '98' type body style, it should have some luxuries. I haven't used any aftermarket PW kits on my builds, anyone have some honest reviews of kits they've used, esp. looking to long term use?
I just got some from a 70's Cad in a junk yard. Took off the spring from the original stock regulator and the stem for the crank. Mounted the new regulator with the stem removed, but spring on, under the original regulator and ran an arm from the new to the old to raise and lower using the original regulator to keep everything in line.
I used a Specialty Power Windows kit in my truck. Was super easy to install. Seems really well made. Haven't used it for long so can talk to longevity but I would use them again if I needed another kit.
https://www.nu-relics.com/ Check these guys out, I have no experience with them, I do know a couple guys that use them with no complaint. I think @BJR ‘s experience is worth looking at...
I have used Nu-Relics in four cars and they are top notch. They replace the original regulators and bolt in the same place. Easy to use and top quality makes them top on my list.
I'll add that 27 years ago I added power windows to my 442. I used GM motors and regs, I had to replace the motors last year on the fronts, but GM made a simple design, the motors are readily available (new and used) and wrecking yards are full of them last time I checked. Grab the harness and switches while you're at it.
I used Balls ..........works great... https://www.ballsrodandkustom.com/ PLUS: https://watsons-streetworks.com/pro...SHZ4kQHPSUyK0je0N0OiIM3FBwG2xewD_lYI8MSfVvYsA More on my website under "the doors" gallery. just scroll down a bit..
