any possible have a clue of how to adjust these brakes. all i see are 2 big nuts on the back and im puzzled.thanks guys. -ryan
ryan, the 2 big nuts you see are cam pins. they are for adjusting the edge contact of the shoes. what problem are you trying to correct?
heres a quick scan out of my plymouth book. there is a bunch more info, if you let me know what exactly you are trying to correct i'll be able to help you further.
You should get yourself a manual off Ebay. Well worth it. Minor adjustments are no problem, but major adjustment, or new shoes, requires the use of a special shoe aligning tool to centre the arc of the shoes. If you dont use it you'll only have part of the shoe contacting the drum. The manual will explain all this.
Lots of good info at www.p15-d24.com, http://www.ply33.com/Repair/brakes etc etc Some folks made their own adjusting tool out of plumbing supplies (see pics). I don't think it's necessary unless you have "matched" the drums and shoes...
