    With the intake removed...

Rotate the engine until you see either the intake or exhaust rocker open.

Tighten the opposite rocker down while spinning the pushrod. Watch the top of the lifter closely to see when it starts to spin and depress the lifter...STOP.

Rotate the engine as needed and do this to each rocker arm.

Once they are all adjusted to the just touching point, then crank each lifter down 1/2 to 3/4 turn max.

    Done.

Never heard of having to take intake off to adjust valves.

OK, if I am wrong, then please tell me how you do it. I've done this to numerous cam swaps with no problems. The intake is off when swapping the cam.

Actually I usually only go 1/4 to 1/2 turn and run it that way to break the cam in. This is close enough to run without doing damage. Afterwards I go through a running adjustment.

I looked at the link listed and you are right, I use the order listed for adjustment, but the method of spinning and 1/2 turn to adjust the lifters.
