Looking at the prices of what sold , some stuff sold for ridiculous money , I cannot see doing anything with them and not loosing triple the purchase price .

yet other stuff sold for what I would consider a bargain .

auctions are so fickle .


I once got into a bidding war with a guy at an auction for a black and decker “ hone centric “ valve hone . Went up to $80 bucks before it dawned on me I do t really need it and am just caught up in the excitement.

Couple months later I bought 2 valve grinders and a steel tool box loaded with stones and knurles for under $10 bucks


I was the only Turkey who knew what it was .

Still a deal in my book. I wonder if they kept the hood that was on it?

Nope, I watched that get bid up, that was the final bid. I believe it was NOS and part of a '58 Impala factory continental kit. There were also a couple of the bumpers for this kit that went for about $2K each, and one pallet lot had the lower drip pan for it that I think went for $900 by itself. By the time the dust settled and fees were added, at least 1 person had spent about $7k piecing a '58 conti kit together. They're a hot item with the lowrider crowd and guys seem to have no problem paying up for them. I just wonder what it would have gone for if all the pieces were offered together in the same lot.
