I've noticed this for a while but I havn't asked about it. It doesn't seem like the Advanced Search is working the way it should. Maybe I'm doing somthing wrong and just don't realize it or I missed an annoucement or somthing. A quick test, if I do an advanced search for "Chevy" and select "Cars for Sale", I don't get any new adds, only older ones. I've also done searches of threads I have suscribed to and the search won't find them. Example, "Split Stock Manifold" ... nothing comes up, but it's here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=757471 Yes, I am selecting "any date an newer" and I did select sort results by "Last Posting Date" "in Decending order".
I tried your "split stock manifold" and it came up for me in advanced search. Last posting 12-04-12, it was on the second page of the search.
I have got that response a few times lately, but then hit it again and there they all are. I figured it was just Google Chrome.
when you do the advanced search, do you check the box for "search entire posts" or "search ***les only"? when i "search ***les only", i don't get all the recent threads but when i "search entire posts", i get them all. even when the search shows up in the ***le. it's been like that for a couple years now.
Sometimes I'll click search the entire post but that can at times be too broad. I can search for "Chevy", in "Search all Open Forums", "***le Only", sort by "Last Posting Date in Descending Order" and I get one post at the top from 2014, then a mix of posts from 2012 and 2013, but not in descending order. I am using an older version of Explorer, but I tried it on Chrome, and Firefox, I didn't know if that would make any differance. I don't know, I just though I would bring it to attention because it doesn't seem to be working properly.
