I've been searching and searching, and quite possibly searching wrong, however, I am building a 29 Model A. I'm blowing the body apart yet making no head way. I have all the bolts, and tacks and screws and such out. When trying to split the body panels apart they are fused together with rust. Heat / penetrating oil have been used to no avail. Are there any tricks someone has to split the panels without destroying them in the process. The body is pretty rough and needs to be completely blasted and primed. I'm getting to the point where I may have to cut them apart and just weld them back solid. Trying to pry is starting to distort the panels too much. Any help would be appreciated.
I guess you are talking about the cowl joins ? The pillar to cowl side and tank to cowl side and top outer windscreen lower rail ? There is/was a welt around that join, so it should all come apart with heat on the inner flanges and burn the rust and old welt .
I'm talking about the whole car, every panel, every joint. I'm currently working back to front, top to bottom. Its a Tudor sedan. How much heat are we talking, and can too much heat warp the panels? Thanks
