My other build has a 5.0 V8/AOD, has a Holley 80457S 600 cfm with vacuum secondaries and C4 kickdown provision. Carb sits on a Performer with Lokar cables to Lokar pedal and AOD. Very street/frwy friendly setup.

Have two 302's. One with Weiand and 600 CFM Edelbrock, the other a Performer manifold and 500 cfm Edelbock carb, both electric choke. The performer with 500 cfm in my opinion is the best of the two.

On a stock 302 , you should run something like a 500 , IMHO . If I recall , Ford ran a 465 (Holley) on their Mustangs back in the day - that's what I'll be running on my Shoebox (with a 302) . Most people tend to over-carb a motor for some reason . Bigger isn't always better .
