    <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> Hey all,

    Ive been happily given news that Ill be recieving my body back from the body shop with its newly repaired quarter panels this week. Given all the custom work at the rear of the car I need a way to set the body over the frame to first trim it for clearance to things like the rear driveshaft loop and rear crossmember which will require a few test fits. Then another go when setting the rear end in position. From that point itll need to come off again. I need a quick portable solution to quickly setting the body and at times hang it over the frame without setting it down.

    Im looking for some ideas to how best to do this. Id preffer a method that isnt extremely expensive since this will be the only time I plan to use any sort of equipment like this. I have access to a rottisserie for the body or the frame on its own. I dont have a lift I can use to raise it up or down although that would be the best way due to the frame being locked down to the floor for jigging purposes.

    A crew of guys could work but I cant cut metal quickly enough to have guys holding the body while I get it cleared out enough to drop it on completely.

    Im hoping maybe theres some suggestions about some type of homemade rig that can get this done.

    Thanks a bunch

    You can use an engine hoist through the window or chock it up on axle stands above the frame and then use jacks to lower it and raise it again.
