Many of you know this was my Grandpap's little RPU loooooong before I got it. It was built as a senior project in college by my dad, and has been promised to me since I could walk. Anyway, I've been thrashing to get it ready to head for the HAMB Drags this weekend, and decided to pay homage to my Grandpap. Grandpap was a die-hard FORD man through and through. When this RPU was 'completed' out in California back in the late 70s, the white metal FORD tag was put on just out of pride, and there it has ridden up until today. Today I pulled out the vanity plates that we put on the little RPU when we got it back here to Oklahoma. "G PAP" is short for Grandpap. I wanted to put the original white/green letter tag on, but the paint had been rubbed completely off of one corner, and it'll need to be restored. I may look into having it done in the California black/goldyellow lettering of old, but that'll be down the road. I placed the GPAP tag in place of the old FORD tag, and the old tag will take a special residence inside my garage on the wall. Notice also that I added my 2008 HAMB Alliance tag as well.
