AFTER MARKET turn signal switch QUESTION.....

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by holliwood, Apr 26, 2010.

  1. I have an EZ Wiring 21 fuse system in my Shoebox. I want to put in an aftermarket turn signal switch like the one pictured, but I'm understanding it to say that they have a built in flasher. Since my wiring already has a flasher too, how will that work? Do I need to take one out?

Well that looks like the same one I have. Speedway? I have a EZ in my 32 and this set up. I ran the wires based on the feed from the panel and the instructions from the switch kit. It was fun matching the wires to and from. I guess when I get smarter I will use a quick disconnect like a gm column. However, I hard wired them to each of the called for wires and it works like a charm. No idea about a seperate flasher set up however.

They do NOT have a flasher built into the switch.

I am running that same switch; I don't think there is a flasher in it.

I used a Rebel Wire harness and was a little confused how to wire the turn signal switch to the harness. I gave them a call and he walked me through it no problem.

Theres NO flasher in that switch.
Also, most EZ Wire kits I've installed won't flash electronic flashers. This is because they've got the wires backwards in the flasher socket. They also get the headlight plugs miswired.

  6. Ok, maybe it just meant that it has "flashers" built in.. Well, how would be the best way to wire it up then? I have all my other lights working like a charm, I just need these now. I did wire up my two parking light wires (front and rear) to my brake switch already; not sure if that matters or not. Thanks for the help guys.
