hmm, last time I checked..nope. For those that are unaware, (much sarcasm here) you can change the stance with a flick of the switch/remote...I know...unfuckingbelievable, but true. Listen, the way I see it, if someone is going to go to all the trouble of airbagging a vehicle, why not make it low..right? I can still make it raise up to your level:rolleyes:

Definately an improvement, but I have to say I like the original stance a whole lot more. Good Job!

No1- I very much like the wheels, AND caps, And blackwalls. I just dont get putting 2 grand of wheels and WWs on a 3 grand turkey, then bragging about how "lowbuck" your ride is?????

No2-I know y'all HATE billet wheels beyond what seems reasonable...I find tyre profile more important to looks myself.

No3-How much of the new look is attributable to JUST the stance????

No4- I spent a fair bit of money to get my 52PU LOWWWW, everynow and then I think about getting bags...but then I just think....I aint EVER gonna want it HIGHER!!!!!!!

No5-Its easy to talk trash on the previous builder/s and owner/s but on my little screen, that body looks MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!

No6-I'd rather drive that than ANY car built since about 79!!!!

But there is no stance if the car lays completely on the ground. Or is lowrider stance? The lowest position ain't always best. I noticed it again last weekend in car show here in Finland, lot of "import style" cars with absolutely no stance. New cars it's even more important to get wheel flairs and wheels match. And as someone said, that doesn't mean that if you can you should. I have studied this thing a lot and it is still sometimes very hard to get the right stance. Anyway you mentioned really good point of adjustable suspension.:):)

Keep up the great work 51Gringo.

Some of you guys obviously don't really like the traditional stance looks on cars.
I love to see a good low rake on a custom car. But a stock (looking) car should be higher in my opinion.
Definitely not as high as mine...
I would like to lower my rear but not to a point it looks like its been dropped from 10 stories.
I really like the car transformation though although it may not sound like it. The wheels look great.
That car is not traditional though.
New drivetrain. new age stance, and tweed interior.
Not traditional although the wheel choice gives the total look a traditional flavor. imho

I am not into the big fendered cars too much but I love the transformation. Looks killer.

    Good job Max,
I wouldn't worry about neysayers. I don't see them kickin out bad ass cars like U do... Missed talking to U at Billetproof, I was there but had the MGD flu. See U in Salinas?

The wheel deal is subjective but I am just lost on the so called stance?? The car is laying on the ground with it's wheels tilted as if it has broken suspension components? There is no stance as one side is not higher than the other? Yes, I understand the air bag deal.

I like the wheels but if the so called Boyd look is no good why is the it is broken and on the ground look better?? Not trying to be an ass I just do not get it. What does it look like at ride height as that is how it is going to be seen correct?? I think some guys are just into ragging on Boyd than giving an honest opinion.

No, its cool, I like hearing everyones opinions, whether good or bad, the funny thing is I can relate to the ones that think it's too low, but then again, the stance can be changed very easily, which is why I love air suspension, plus the ride is great. I really appriciate all the comments, to those that like...I'm glad, to those that dislike...I'm glad!
    Max.
Gotta love those F-ing fenders, I think I'm in love with this body style, gives a new description to the word flow.

I don't want to continue the ragging but I have seen some fat fendered ford coupes with what I consider a killer stance and think that this car could be there too.

Just to throw a name out there, how about Ryan's '38.

I like to see the car as though it is on the road. If you can drive it down the highway with it set as in the pictures, then that truely is one heck of a stance.

ps. Visually the proportions of the roof line looks like a zit on the road when it is on the ground.

No bags here... at least not yet. It will probably get bags in the rear to help with rumble seat rides. I don't really like the BROKENLOW (TM) look either. But as has been said, that is easy to fix... just don't put them all the way down. :D

-You know.... ( I know I'm going to get flamed for this...) but, I grew up in the "Boyd" era. Everyone pisses on Boyd...but, he was the one who got me interested in this whole deal in the first place. He was building cars that no-one else was. Yes, big gaudy billet wheels are passe' now, but a lot of stuff that was cool back then, isn't now. I realize that it also was cool when I was growing up to wear a t-shirt that said "Disco-Sucks!"...but, everything comes full-circle.

You have a fantastic ride! Maybe someone putting a tweed interior, and billet wheels on it, actually saved it from the crusher, so that you could put your own spin on it. I'm not knocking your car at all...I think your version is much cooler... I'm just tired of people constantly flaming Boyd on this site, and never giving him any props for what he did do... Sure he had a sitcom'ish "shop" show...but, so does Jesse, and I don't see people slamming him on this site.

Sorry if this this is O.T... I haven't followed Boyd's escapades in 10-years or so, if he's been out rapin' children or somesuch...then I retract my comments. Otherwise, appreciate the fact that this guy got a lot of us into the lifestyle...whether it is "cool" to admit it, or not...
