Ahhhh, another 'Boyd' car brought to the Darkside!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 51Gringo, Oct 10, 2007.

  1. Jesus...everyone pisses all over themselves when the Salinas Olympic Coupe or Paul Cepeda's '40 show up here, but now this is too low?

I don't get complaining about stance on vehicle with adjustable ride-height. I believe Zenor said it best..."Waaah, my ice cream's cold."

    The '37 looks great.

I don't know the ´40 but Salinas Olympic coupe is too low too, if you asked from me. And it is chopped, it makes a big difference.

  4. What size tires are you running on that thing? The blackwalls look sweet on the black paint!

  5. Good point....I prefer 'em chopped when they're that low.

I like the "Broken Look" or Tail Dragger look myself and i do have air bags in the rear so when its up it "looks" "traditional".call me fake or what ever but i built it "traditionally" in "my" garage by my self.i guess that`s not tradition now-a-days.;)
    Great job..the car looks fantastic

  8. Man,that car is off the hook! looks killer!:D

  9. Report directly to Shaun @ Fat Lucky's to drain the gold chainer interior from it and it'll be dead nuts perfecto!

wow...kinda what I was trying to say, but CLEARER....funny how all the 'oldskool' 20 somethings talk like the 70s and 80s never happened......we should start a new thread..."How'd Y'all get started in cool old cars???"

Guys, I wasn't trying to knock Boyd, but just knock his wheels off this car...that's all, I'm sorry if it made an improvement, but lets face it...It did.
Thanks to all for the nice words, I am stoked for the owner of this black beauty, can't wait to see his face when he sees it, this is what it's all about. Really, thanks again!
    Max.

Am I the only one who likes the old version better? It sure does have a far more traditional stance than the new look does. I really don't like airbags because they are a poser part in my opinion. They say "Hey look at me and how low my car is", but in reality the car cannot be driven safely that way at all. I have seen far too many posts about Olds Rocket valve covers on Chevy engines because it is trying to be something that it is not, but most of the people responding loved the slammed Rat Rod/Mini Truck look of the car in the post. Traditional cars fifty years ago were not that low, so what gives?
