I have halogen conversions in my 35 tudor streetrod and now that I reinstalled bulbs correctly they shine pretty good. I have them aimed as high as I can but they still hit the road too close to the car due to the car's stance. Has anyone had any experience modifying the stands to raise the point of aim?
always a problem with raked cars - back 'in the day' we used to not care....even with the lame headlights and the stupid speeds we drove - invincible teens, dontcha know? You could dissassemble the light itself and put some spacers in there to get the whole can/bucket to point up a bit more...without the parts spread out in front of me, I'm not sure what the orientation of the mounting screws is....but you should be able to use longer screws with additional stainless washers to change the arc of the vertical plane of the lens/bulb/reflector assembly. dj
General rule for headlight aim on low beam from about 20 feet on a level surface is the top of the light beam as reflected on a wall should be 2 inches below the center of the headlight. And aimed slightly to the right.Properly aimed lights do make a difference................... You may just have to modify the stand.
