I need a new air cleaner for the stromberg carb on my '51 buick (263) and wanted to put on one of the Olds/Cadillac repop air cleaners. The issue is that the opening for the air cleaner is much larger than the neck of the carb and also the air cleaner is held on by a nut attached to a rod that is attached to the carb. Is there an adapter that anyone knows of that will fit and make this work?

I assume the Strom. uses a clamp like a 97? If so, I would make a tube that fits the top and weld a circular piece to it to fit the cleaner. I would run a strap up and across the new part and use a stove bolt in the center to hold the cleaner on. Make sense? It would look kinda like the cheap Strom air filters without the filter and top. Just a bigger base.
