My daughters A/C compressor locked up. Its a Honda, yeah a Honda!. I bought a new compressor and dryer, not that she needs it done now but she dont get home too often. After installing I'm going to take it to a A/C tech and have him vacuum the lines and recharge the system. My question is with the compressor came a pint of lube. Do I put the lube in the compressor somewhere or is this someting that the A/C tech does when he charges the lines. I only ask because the compressor is mounted low and is a pain in the *** to install/remove-I'm hoping to save some labor cost by installing it myself, but if they have to take it off to install the lube I wont be saving anything.

get a factory service manual, honda used many differnet brands of a/c systems over the years, each with different procedures.

    Yea what he said.

When I got my compressor, it had some oil in it. I was told to drain it out and then add the recommended amount. Since you don't know how much is already in there you drain it out first. Just pour it in the line connections and turn it over by hand. If you turn the wrong way it will come out, just reverse and keep on gettin' it. Stick it on the car, with the dust caps on of course. That should get you to the shop.
