I've had shockwaves on the front of my 49 fleetline for over two years 10,000+ miles, air stays up for days. The new bags they offer are single or double adjustable QA1 with several choices lift ratios. you can adjust them to ride anyway you want from the dash. Anything else is second rate. But as for this forum no bags are traditional so why discuss it.
Great info here.... No to hijack, but which Slam Specialties complete kit would you guys use on a 41-48 Chevy with stock front/rear suspension and disc brakes adapted ? The amount of stuff out there is kinda confusing....any tips from the pros? Rat
Why did you start 3 different threads asking the same question? If you're trying to get more responses, just bump the original thread you started every few days. It just pisses some people off here when someone asks the same question over & over.
I have to disagree. I have had a couple instances where there really was nowhere to go with the shocks that would work. Now you won't be get the range of lift out of them, but not everyone wants their car to look broken. That's about the most confusing reply I've ever read. I was given all the specs for the particular shockwaves that I needed when they were purchased. Now they may not be able to tell you the particulars for every car, but neither can a bag manufacturer.
Air bags are balloons and Shockwaves are a balloon with a shock inside of it. Zmans right. Because Shockwaves have shocks built in they dont have as much travel but they are great for applications where you just cant get a shock installed. No matter what anybody says shocks are a must. I like bags myself. Ive had both Slam, and Dominators, Dominators win hands down. 2500s all the way around with shocks, installed correctly and she'll ride like an airplane in the sky.
