My roadster that im building is going to be vintage aircraft inspried i want to use all aircraft syle bolts and hardware. All of the nuts and bolts will have safty wire. There used to be a aircrat junk yard here in town that you could buy aluminum hose fittings and all the aircraft bolts you wanted all different sizes. Does any one have any leads on hardware like this? -Chris

i bought a 150 10/32 nas bolts and rivnuts for the belly pan on my austin racer from aircraft spruce great service and very cheap and they were shipped to me in the uk the difficulty is you need to exactly which bolts you need grip length ( unthreaded part) thread length drilled for lock wire on the hex or through the thread,,,, it is well explained on the website i used all the same bolts i do get a lot of good comments about my lockwired belly pan pics in my webshots
don't any of the salvage places out by DM sell parts any more? I haven't been looking for like 25 years....but they still take lots of planes apart out there. there's a place on Kolb, and some more out by the junkyards behind the power plant.
im a machinist in the air force and we order alot from fastenall, BTW we drill safety wire holes .005 over the size of the safety wire.
i talked to my cusin who use to build sprint cars and he said thats all they wolud use to build those cars and thats where they got them is out by dm. You and i should go look through the yard and i know a guy aout at pima air and space museum they have a junk yard their too. How about safety wired lug nuts....what would be the best way to drill the nuts? Or is there a better way?
I'm down in Sierra Vista, so it takes some effort for me to get up there...about 75 miles each way driving.
