I recently bought a pair of Airheart disk brakes and Crager rotors on Ford hubs. There are aluminum mounting plates to mount the calipers. The calipers are aluminum with dual pistons and probably were on a T bucket. Does anyone have any experience with these brakes and or pictures on a car. Are parts available. An internet search showed that Tolematic Co. now handles the Airheart product line but show no brakes that look like these. Hearst once manufactured Hearst Airheart brakes but there no Hearst names on these. deChrome
i had a setup off of a old mod/production corvette...the studs were mounted to rotors ...and went thru the axle ...had the 4 piston calipers ....rebuild kits are avalible ....i know speedway used to offer them .....as for search.....try hurst/airheart brandon
I have a old pair of Hurst/Airheart I might try and use with some spindle mounts. They are still in business in Phoenix I believe.
They are really old school cool but man they are seriously proud of them. 50% higher than Wilwood and you don't even get new hubs.
The Speedway catalog has brake pucks and caliper kits for Airhearts listed. Prices seem reasonable. Did you pick those rails up from Bob's?
Dechrome- MilesM gave you the e-address you want. They still have pucks, parts, etc., for most of their old stuff. I spoke to someone in AZ a few years back and got lots of good help, but tried the e-mail contact at the new place and didn't have much luck. Hurst is long gone, but the Hurst/Airheart brakes are common to standard (older) Airheart models - just a different logo cast into the housing. I have a pair of Airhearts that need some clean-up and parts. Please post any reconditioning info, tips, etc., that you come across. Also, do a search here. I think there have been some related threads in the past. Good luck.
