hay chili, sorry to here about ak miller's p***ing . he was one of my heros too. it reminds me of something i saw on a coffeecup of all places,"one hundred years from now it wont matter how much money I made or what kind of house I lived in,but that I made a diference in the life of a child" what does thos have to do with ak's p***ing ? teach a kid how to build a hotrod!and take him/her fishing.Ak was a great teacher to his following generation, the rest of us should follow his example. r.r.as for the fishing thing, that was just me
Wow, Im sorry to hear of his p***ing too. I had a chance to meet him about five years ago, after finding an Ak Miller Turbo conversion for a Pinto 2000. During a visit to Los Angeles, I stopped by his shop, in Pico Rivera. What an interesting day, he told me how he used to produce the conversions for Huntington Ford in the 70s and about some of the Pintos that he raced. He showed me Marilyns dual turbocharged Corvette and some of his other projects. Marilyn was working putting parts together for propane conversions. She didnt like the hat I was wearing and gave me a MM hat and t-shirt. I ended up spending four hours there and it was one of the highlights of my trip. He is definitely going to be missed.
If you look up the pic post of the 's**** iron special ' it's my 55 ford street stock that i raced at barely 17. Ak Miller was fords performance adviser back then.Well I wrote to him about handling and stuff and believe me you could tell I was a snot nosed kid from the way I posed my questions.sent that letter to Ak Miller c/o Ford Dearborn Michigan. I don't even know how he got it but I'll tell you what over a month later I got letter from him and he explained every single question I asked! He HAD to know I was just some dumb kid but he took the time to answer my letter and made sure it was answered in a way I could understand.I showed that letter to anybody who would stand still long enough. To say Ak was my Hero would be a major understatment!GODS DO EXIST!I feel the same about Art Arfons but thats for another time goodby Mr.Miller this 52 year old kid will miss you
