Hot Rods Aligning a steering wheel?

    You can pull the steering wheel and file the wheel so it can be re clocked if if the box is centered and just the wheel is off.

    You could do that and get a better understanding of what you have there.

    That is something that a Hackmaster General would do, I don't recommend it.

    Thats the way to do it! Then you have solid fact to base your next move on.
    Fingers crossed that the steering wheel is dead on correct with the box centered...because then you can just send it out for a wheel alignment and all will be good! ;)

    Here is what I determined. If I center the steering wheel by revolutions, the steering wheels spokes are not in the correct east west position. In addition, the steering wheel is not in the same position as it is when I am driving straight down the road. My humbled conclusion is, while the car probably could benefit from a front end alignment, it will not correct the position of the steering wheel.

    Sounds like the issue is in the column hook up.
    Get that sorted out so the wheel is straight when the box is centered properly and then get a wheel alignment.
