I'll throw this one up here since I've got it in the shop for some changes and maintenance. Belongs to my buddy, he originally built it in 1958! I "restored" his old hot rod for him 20 years ago. Funny, no one was building "traditional" hot rods then, he had me do some street roddy things then we've both grown to regret. Finally got around to changing some of them recently, the big ugly GM tilt column went away and grey leather has replaced the tweed cloth. Since these pics were taken I've replaced the radial tires with 550 front and G-78 rear bias ply www and 40 caps. Now if I could just talk him out of the electric fan and alternator!
Here's the one that started the early hotrod resurgence, IMHO. Wonder where it is today? I think that Julian Alvarez(?) is the caretaker. Any pics? Bud Bryan's AV8 '29 build began in R&C in JUNE, 1968 Metal work by the master, Sam Foose. That's Chip's DAD for you youngins'.
Hers my 30 av8 with 8ba , early Navarro heads ,early slingshot edelbrock 2x2 , 39 box , 39rear , 39 brakes, 39 dash,wide 5 wheels and flat front cross member gets it a little lower
Yes I did, I am working on a 30-31 rear bumper layout as well, plan is to sell some different variations, fronts and rears in u-mount form if there is enough interest.
Ok I have to post a new pic of my car. I have an older from around two years ago on this thread. The pics below are from July. Right now I'm in the middle of moving 10 hours down the road so I have not seen my car in two months. This is the first time I've really posted anything about it after getting the flathead in it. When I get out west back to my car and start working on it again I'll post more of a build thread. But first things first don't let this great thread end!!
Thanks to Mike and Vern for the ideas and inspiration. '31 Roadster, '53 Mercury, '39 trans, torque tube, '40 rear w/3.25 gear, Lincoln brakes, '34 wishbone. Handles nice, rides better with the radials than the belted tires though... Bill
