Put some time in on the 50Merc, before an after, I work on Norm's rdstr. Wheeling and rolling, some new catwalk panels.. gettin there
It made more sense to make each of these panels, into two pieces. Made it easier, tipping that flange. Tomorrow, I'll get to fitting these panels, draw up some more patterns and make things start to fit like they were meant to be there.
I worked at SanBernardinoRacingEquipment aka SuperShops No.1 . Learned a lot working there. People used to stop, just to ask about my 55Chevy.
Sheesh. HiBoy isn't doing so well. This guy is the neatest cat. Waiting to see the vet. I know it's serious when he doesn't even need a carrier, to be and stay in the car (Edit) He's in HotRod heaven, now. I'll miss you Boy!
Norm's been working on the transmission tunnel, while allowing me to finish up on the 50Mercs upper deck panels. With the floors in, we're taking measurements to fit the firewall. Or as he calls it, the bulkhead
After a little more than an hour, these panels are ready to be installed. Norm brought this to the shop. Some pretty cool pictures, in there. Dad would've been stoked.
Been a great learning experience, learning to work with aluminum. Especially, what not to do.. Norm was telling me, Jocko's first streamliner, was fibergl***. The shape created so much down force, the body broke in half. And that's why he ended up making it out of aluminum.
Yeah, same to you. It's always amazed me when I see a cat relaxed an enjoying a trip in a vehicle. I've never had one, that did
Sorry for the loss of your fuzzy little buddies to the both of you. I’m a dog guy, and I have lost some damn good ones to old age. So I know your pain. Once again I’m sorry.
Norm said this was one of the most difficult tasks he'd done -- possibly due to the tapering of the chamber inside.
First of all, the roadster looks weird with a windshield. Second, he mentioned how difficult the aluminum he used to create the plenum, was to weld. He has a huge folder of patterns and notes for your roadster, under lock & key. (Actually, it's sits behind the bench grinder, out in the shop) I know the rules say no taper, but do you think this 'round top' would be considered streamlining?
