They are very sought after up here....funny we get ads up here for "Rare" American Pontiacs when there was probably 10 X as many made down south...and we do consider them to be real Pontiacs......... Maybe you should think before you type.

Amen.... Amazing how people can take a piece of wonderful potential, and or restorable history and hack the living life out of it. Shame.

One time I called about a car I saw in someones driveway. Guy told me $4500 on the phone. When I got there to look at it, he says I meant $5400, I'm dyslexic. Ha!

My buddy bought a rod off of ebay from back east. The ad said "Fly in and drive home". When the car arrived, it had front brakes only.

Another guy bought a '70 Chevelle that was "restored". It looked good till you got it on the rack. The floors (front/back) had been sheet metal screwed in, no welds. And the trunk,,,,what trunk? $45K for a $25K car.

  5. It means: I've worked to screw up a perfectly good vehicle, it was too hard and I'm done.

Oh man, that would piss me right off! I had a similar situation in reverse: Had a guy in upstate New York that was interested in my OT Fairlane, he asks some questions, asks if I have any more pictures, and starts talking about coming to see it.

I went out to the garage and took pictures of everything that I could find that needed attention (blood and treasure). Sent them to him, telling him that I was deliberately TRYING to present the very worst of the car to him, so that if he made the long haul, the only surprises would be pleasant ones.

Never heard back from him. Would have been nice to get a "I was looking for something needing less work, thanks for saving me the time and trouble."

yeah, I bought a project car off the HAMB and actually spoke to the seller more than 20 times on the phone. To make a long story short, I got a car that had be trashed and then just plopped on a chassis with no fasteners. Same for the motor and transmission. The seller made me think it would be one week and I would have it on the road:D It's the old lemon to lemon aid deal

  8. All Of The Hard Work Done. This usually means some retard has spent no money and read the Do It Yourself Version of How To Hot Rod Your Car !!! And still my favorite for cars is RAN WHEN PARKED !! And for engines it has to be the great selling quote "FRESH" >>>>.

  9. Yep. Especially when it ACTUALLY is a really rare Canadian Pontiac, that was one of 1383 built, and came from the factory with a 261 straight six that seems to be fairly common here but 'rare' a bit south of here..:)
