This one belongs to a friend of mine in Pennsylvania. It is a 14,000 mile original purchased from the original owners wife after he died. He drove it with the original 6 stick for a couple of years, then he dropped in a totally correct 66 Corvette 427 with tri-power and a 4 speed. Very clean install, and boy does he piss off the Corvette guys when they see the engine.

We have two in the family. The white 62 Wagon is my son Jason's and the Red and White 56 Buick is mine.

I had a wife, once, who owned a lexus and wanted a mini-van (she tried to trade my T in on one), who hated station wagons, come to think of it she hated old cars, fast cars, fun cars, loud cars, dirty cars, driving with the windows down, and me. So she threw me out and asked for a divorce. So now I drive a primered, lowered, rusty, loud, '64 Nova station wagon (with all the windows rolled down, including the rear one) and '17 Model T Ford race car (w/ a straight 3" exhaust).

and life is a little more relaxed and my blood pressure is down 30 points.

    Zapato,

How long ago did your buddy have that '59? Mine came to KS from Oregon, probably 12-15 years ago. Could it be the same car?

Starlite, your 58 wagon is a thing of beauty. I am a big fan of 58/59 wagons as that is what I wanted before finding my 53. you really did it up right. basically stock (mild custom) with some nuce accenting paint work. Love it.

can you post some more pics of it., maybe a side shot, hows the interior?

Here's a shot of my 58 Edsel Roundup wagon that I owned from the mid 80's to 1990. It had three on the tree and an under dash Mark IV air conditioning unit that worked great. Was pretty ugly but made several trips to LA and even took me to Death Valley for a camping trip.

When I was 6yrs old my dad bought a 70 Cortina Wagon w/a 1600cc Auto in it, He traded in a 68 Firebird 400 w/all goodies on it & they paid him a diffference
I think that car was all off $2000.00 new, Firebird was $4600.00 in 68.
    Being 6 an all I was pissed!!!
6 yrs later I took it for a joyride when Dad was suppossed to be laid up in bed sick. Either my older sister or older brother ratted me out while I was cruising with a buddy around all of the local side streets. cuz when I got back Dad yanked me right out of the drivers window while I pulled in the driveway, car was still in motion! Go figure:confused:
he almost made the car hit the 3.5' high divider wall between my neighbors house & mine. Most people wouldn't have a soft spot for that car, but it was like a 1st girl;) I had my own car @ 15yrs & my dad drove that, while my sisiter the Rat#1 drove the poor Cortina into the ground, Ran it low on oil, popped a rod thru the side of the block! That was Sept 1980 going to the beach;)
In 1981-2 I took mky dad to find a 1600cc from a Pinto/Capri or the like. I pulled the engine out. He didn't buy it.So it sat, I looked around for one. Then one day while I was @ the Ecology Center wrecking yard. There's the Cortina. Sitting there in the holding pen, going out to get junked. Man what a sad day.:(
I came home & found out Rat#2=brother talked dad into giving him the paper work so he could get the $50.00 for whatever the @*%! he was going to do with it. My brother "RIP" wasn't a car guy,(Did Jap Bikes).
I was not a happy camper, but I already had replaced my dads Firebird (67)
and had a 68 GTO 4 spd ragtop. I wasn't about to go get that sucker out of the boneyard.
I don't have but one picture of that car & it has my funky 12yr old ass sitting on the hood tennis racket & all.
It was nice to see yours on here.
    Thanks for the memories.

Now here is one of my long roofs Don't if the posting of these pics will work though, they never have in past for me.

If it doesn't come through. listen to Surf City by Jan & Dean. It describes it to a T.

  22. Kommuter, doubt if its the same wagon, he ran it pretty hard back in the 60s, his was painted in a high school shop a dark blue flake left the top stock white. Last time I saw it in the late 70s it was pretty badly rusted out tailgate looked like a cheese grater, but some one else was still driving it.

  23. Shiny, is that the Holland Bakery panel, saw it at the Unfinished Nats a few years back. You've got good in-laws if it's him. Great guy parked next to him on Sunday morning in my 51 ford.

Thanks for the compliments. The wagon is very mild the paint follows mildness of the car with the yellow with a platium pearl and the white with a gold pearl at night with the right light it really stands out.
