IMG_4661.jpeg We just had our yearly Wag Nats, camping for 5 days in cool old wagons. Although, I took my F100 which was mildly controversial ha IMG_4666.jpeg IMG_4665.jpeg IMG_4528.jpeg IMG_4527.jpeg IMG_4522.jpeg

20250129_113743.jpg 20250211_170250.jpg Just picked up this 62 Safari. Complete original no rust Texas car. Motor is a non-runner but I'm putting together a 455/Th400 to go in it. Should be fun!

    My son's 57 Dodge wagon.
Its been on fire, its been up to the top of its roof under water in a flash flood, but here it is, still cruising 5 years after its 3rd rebuild! Modern Mopar power.

Gene-it was on fire? I ***ume that you got it put out in time. I thought fire makes metal more brittle due to the heat? How has the body held up?

Technically, it was in a fire. Before my son bought the car, the garage it was in caught fire. The hood was open, and the guy had all the stainless steel trim off the car and laying on the car's roof.
The front of the hood had the paint burned off if it, and the stainless trim on the roof was all discolored from the heat, the roof paint was blistered, but mostly still present, before they got the car out of the garage. I suspect the boys were hustling to save the car! The garage did burn to the ground. When he bought the car, it came with a parts car that had all the good stainless. This last reincarnation, after the flood, he did remove the most of the trim. The car still has the original hood, it seems to be OK.

My son and his family cruise the car all summer, its been around 6 years since it was painted. Its not perfect, and he is still working on the interior, but it still wins trophies.

I believe that they are wood. This was at the GRRS 2025, maybe some of the folks who saw it could offer their opinions also.
