Hey, I'm Brandon. I just stumbled across this board and thought I'd sign up. I used to have a 68 El Camino that I restored but have long since sold that. Right now I'm into VW's and am restoring a 63 bug and throwing a turbo 16v into an 83 rabbit. Once I finish I plan on picking up a 54 Chev, chopping it and dropping it, and throwing in a nice little lump to move it along. I'm currently enroled in a welding class and will be taking an auto body class so I can learn how to do all this. In the long run I hope to eventually be making hot rods and choppers for a career. Anyway, just thougth I'd say hey. See you guys around.
The 54 Chev will be cool but everybody has little secrets they should keep to themselves. Like 83 rabbits. Anyway welcome to the board. There is a lot of great info. here.
I'm selling my '65 bug 'vert to finance my '50 chevy build. VW's are a blast. My has a bunch 70's racing suspensions parts on it it handles like a huge go-kart. I'll miss her.
haha, your not the only one that has an odd car here. I have a '64 Volvo 544. It will be a cool rod if I ever get started. Welcome to the HAMB!
Yeah....welcome aboard! Just remember, and I mean this in a nice way....your here to learn about old cars. Thats cool, but WE didn't sign up to hear the latest on VW Jettas! That stuff has been a problem lately....
Don't worry about it, if I want to talk about VW's I'll go over to VWVortex. I just used bigredjetta as my SN because that's how everyone knows me on a couple other boards and it confuses my little brain if I have umpteen different names for all the message boards I go to. But don't worry, when I'm here it's all about choppin tops and drinkin PBR
welcome aboard, vw's are an underlying passion for some of us on here. they're kinda like a "playskool" version of real hot rods. i've got a 56 ragtop, and a 62 ragtop myself. please remember, this board is for traditional cars, and discussions on vw's, jettas, or stuff not associated with american iron is discouraged. please refrain from using the trems: rat rods, flat black with red wheels, and i think mexican blanket seat covers will be outlawed just as soon as most of us get our interior done but other than that watch out for hankcash, and his curious rash.
[ QUOTE ] Hey Brandon! Welcome. Please don't hurt little bunnies!Send pix of the chebby. Glenn [/ QUOTE ] Oh the bunny is more of a rabbid rabbit, it hurts hondas more than it gets hurt I don't have pics of the Chubby yet because.....well....I don't have it yet. But you can bet your ass as soon as I get one I'll post it up.

[/ QUOTE ] So basiclly, don't be a retarded newby......I think I can handle that . Like I said, don't worry about the VW thing, I'm glad that it seems that everyone likes these overgrown go-carts but like I said, if I want to talk VW's I'll go over to VWVortex
Everyone wants to be a pro-builder. Personaly I think it takes the fun out of it, just like anything you do for cash. Never the less follow your dreams. And welcome you've come to a good place to learn. The PknBner
I remember a certain someone that had a similar name, but dropped the "CRX" from the end eventually... Hope there is no "BigRed" M-
[ QUOTE ] Please be informed, and a message to ALL. I want to see pix of your chEbby, not pix of your chUbby!!! [/ QUOTE ] haha, I was just thinking about that. That's what me and my friends use to call my El Camino "the Chubby". We were drunk one night and sluring words and when a chick asked me what I drive I told her a "I drave a chubby elkamno." She laughed and told me she wanted to drive my chubby, I didn't argue
