Thanks for the interest... the car sat for 2 days while club members cars got worked on... I wouldn't have a problem with having to schedule the time, but I got told to bring it in "right away" & then it sat untouched ( well actually day two it made it as far as the lift, & another more important car showed up & I got bumped )...

today they pulled the brake drum... they thought the axel seal was OK... the owner admitted to re-adjusting that brake even though they only worked on the front line for the brake light... so I don't know if it was good or not, when we backed it off after last time ??? my shoe is worn almost to the point of needing replacement ( from new ) the spring "seems OK" as well... obviously the wheel cylinder needs rebuilding from the heat... I'm actually heading there now, to see if they could find wheel cylinder parts & see where we are at...

outwardly there was no obvious sign of what the problem was unless the brake was just too tight when they gave me the car...

as a local business manager, I can understand the inportance of some customers over others... but I'm honestly not very happy with my expirience in this shop...

on a happier note... you should have seen my wife's smile yesterday...

we pulled out her 1st car, a 79 Camaro that had been in storage since 2000... so far I've put new tires on it, had to resurface the flywheel & put in a new clutch kit & yesterday she picked it up from a different shop, where we installed a full dual exhaust system on her 350 - 4 speed... lets just say her appriciation made the pain of the Nash a little easier to bare... :D

Your learning quick.... keep the wife happy..... sounds like she has a neat car..... Are you going to rebuild the wheel cylinder are replace it.....? When you get it back on the road drive it 4 or 5 miles and stop and see if the brakes are warm, do this a couple of times and see what happens...

if possible, swap the cylinder from one side to the other and see if the problem migrates with it.

You asked if there was anything you forgot. One important thing and I think you are finally realizing it. Drop this shop and find somebody who knows what the hell they are doing. The guy supposedly fixed your car,you had the problem and he told you to bring it back, then throwed you on the back burner for other peoples cars. Thats a sign of a bad business man and guy that is just there to turn a dollar and not give a crap about good work and satisfied customers.
