its guna be burnt orange color that flops to purple and green (some new sherwin willams paint) i hope it looks good!!!!
fair enough BUT there is nothing traditional about those wheels. or the color he wants to paint it for that matter. remember this forum is for traditional rods and customs! other wise the bodywork looks nice.
Good point. The body needs to be lower. Even if he puts better wheels on it the stance is too high. You can almost see the top of the rubber band tires in the rear. Maybe some blocks and skirts?
Ahhhhhh.......the old traditional rule..............Hope to see those 2 stone tablets some time, so that it can be spelt out to me what traditional means. Then I will know what I can build and not build..............Oh, unless I am a girl with a 73 VW..............Then I am welcomed with openned arms......................Guess that makes a difference. Just an example............No offense girlie. Hot Rodding, traditional or not, is about individual tastes..............

Im pretty sure Traditional means in the sprit of the way things were done mid 60s and back. This does not mean that all parts were or look like they were built before 1965 but they lend a sense of cohesion to the car. A kind of interpretation of the styles of the American Graffiti era, however often mixed with the Sex Pistols era. Maybe some of the cars here take some modifications further than in the past but they all flow along the same lines. An over-chopped A is still a chopped A, something that has been around as long as hot rodding itself. Giant aluminum billet wheels and tiny tires do not pay homage to anything remotely traditional. Color shifting paint is also a new idea that does not fit my idea of the traditional mold. Flake does and I love it on early sixties customs. Even with all our differences I think we can agree that I am right. This car needs a better stance.
Oh, and girls will always be treated better because they have boobies. Not man boobies like some of us, but nice boobies.
im not looking to start a war, just showing you my progress, if ya cant handle a little new age thats cool, if ya like it let me know!!! ya the stance i wish was lower but to get the tire clearence i had to keep it that high, its the first car i ever swaped frames ,, i learned a lot all by trial and error next car will be a lot nicer. (i bet if ya seen the fuel injected motor with a/c, cruze control, a overdrive trans and a 8.8 rearend with triangel 4 link it would realy get ya triditional people mad) sorry just my style
what frame did you use? it is a little tall, but the wheels probably make it more noticeable. I'll look past them and let you tell more about the frame swap. just lie and say they're mockup wheels.
ya the 20" wheels make it tall,, it was a 1986 crown vic , i choped the front and rear off and streched the frame 14"s
i really dig the car......but ditch the wheels! you need some killer hubcaps on that thing. just my two cents. _T
dam ,, im even getting people p.m.ing me saying i shouldnt be on this board.. sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i do like the board you guys are good with tech info and building ideas sorry your so closed minded..... im into all kinds if styles and mixing and matching styles ,,, i do want to pinstripe this car oldschool style the body was done old school (shaving everything and streching fenders everything i did) i guess ill stop posting pictures of my builds just thought might like to see my work... Thanks Tim Frey!!!!!!!
Hang out if you want to, just know what is cool here and what is not. If you don't want to hang out, ok.
