Time flies! The past weeks where pretty productive. Raphael (www.schaub-metalworks.ch) fixed the frame, it needed new horns, a better front crossmember and few rivets. A friend sold me his nearly crack free front crossmember (rare part over here) Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
thanks guys! i am pretty stoked, 3 weeks left to get it running. engine installed, brakes tuned up (flatheadted-set)!and installed... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
and i need a new name for the project. maybe "batmobil"? "the ozz"? found this ornament over here, hamdmade from the 20s or 30s. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Nice build you have going there. However, I spy with my little blue eye a boat tailed body on a frame in the background in post # 33. What's up with that??
@plym46: that is the racecar my friend raphi is building. he crafted the aluminium-body from scratch, very talented guy. check out his website www.schaub-metalworks.ch. he is going to put a straight eight in it. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
spent a lot of time in my shop the last weeks. tried to get it running for hangar rockin here in switzerland last week, got it running and driving just a few minutes before i had to leave, so there was no time to get the body mounted. so i just mounted cowl, tank and 2 seats, simple and lightweight hotroddin very reliable little thing, did a few miles on the airfield in the alps Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. just mounted the body testwise last week, and dragged it out of the shop for a short spin. the tire-question is not finally answered Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Wow, thats one cool roadster! Love the photos with that beautiful countryside, it looks like paradise!
Subscribed! Love to see how fast you're getting on with that project. I'll start my 32 coupe build next year here in Winterthur
Nice work. I have a Swiss customer, who tells me owning a car there is expensive. One day I'd like to visit your country.
I also love your car, Entlebucher. I may have missed it in your posts but is the roadster body new, like a Brookville or something or did you coupster the original? Thanks for bringing this thread back up, Carter.
Thank you guys! No big news... just enjoyed the drive. yes it's a brookville body, the frankenstein-coupe-body has a new home in here in switzerland Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
and this is the reason for the delay in my build... i "had" to adopt our family-roadster. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
"Discovered some more pics... Collected some headlamps, came from a tractor and must have been used during WWII, someone crafted adapters for them to shade the light. How would you say to this thing in english?" "Cool", I think that is how I would say it in English. Nice work!.
in the family since 1994, older resto, questionable quality, solid but a bit botchy. I was the only one who took care of her in the last 10 years, tried to adopt her for years, but now the cir***stances changed... it will stay in the family. one example for the creativity of some restorers. watertight since over 20 years Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B.
