    Hey everybody,
I'm thinking on building a "bucket" car using a donor cowl from possibly an A model. Some years back Rod And Custom ran some articles showing a new take on building T buckets by using quarter skins from 50's cars. I think, if memory serves, that one illustration had the quarters from a 1957 Ford Fairlane. There were other renderings using other quarters but that particular one caught my eye. I have some parts like a shortened Ford Explorer axle with discs, a small block Chevy with 3 deuces, a powerglide and an old forged steel straight I beam axle. I'd need to build a frame (rectangular tubing) and gather some other stuff as I go but my question is has anyone actually built one with the alternative body panels and if so any tips or suggestions? By building the body I can get it low and a little longer. With the alternative quarters and some flat16 gauge sheet metal I should be able to fab the rear section like a roadster or wven use the quarters and form a small bed. What y'all think?

I have seen hood panels and upper rear side panels of some vans used as the corners of a body.
