Yes! That was a great one...LOL. Good entertainment this is.

But, I sure like the post by the nuclear sub guy. We need more of his clarity.

Since the dawn of civilization, there have always been the herd of naysayers who continually said "XXXX can't be done." Like here, these naysayers quoted the current science of the time to support their arguments and seemed to know what they were talking about so more naysayers jumped onto the bandwagon, satisfied with merely bitching about the status quo, but not bothering to think of a solution to the problem.

There are those who are working on this "energy problem" and there are those bitching about the current situation with that being their only input to the situation. Someone, probably one or two of these "loons", working on one of these systems will come up with a solution through experimentation and trial and error.

We didn't get velcro because people said you couldn't have an adhesive in space. We got it because someone was willing to think of a solution to the problem rather than bitching about the problem. The US became great because we were always the ones looking for solutions to problems...what happened to us?

After we hit critical mass, whoever is left, will they be able to speak of Model A hotrod's?

So solving the world's energy problems is like...making velcro.

I kind of like the hydrogen micro torches I have seen on youtube. There pretty cool, I watched a guy put a hole in a beer bottle with one and cut an aluminum can, kind of neat. There are a bunch of these people making cells out of PVC pipe and S/S washers ect. Type in hydrogen cell on youtube and there is days of videos. I think when I get some time I might make on of those micro torches just for fun all in the name of science.

Notice video of guy running the system on his orange Chevy truck. The system was drawing 12-13 amps of power. At 12 volts, that is 144-156 watts of energy. How hot does a 150 watt light bulb get? That energy is coming from the alternator which is coming from the engine which is coming initially only from the gasoline which came from oil which came from plants and animals millions of years ago which first came from the sun.

So, yes one can take a little energy from the engine to make a little hydrogen gas to help supplement the gasoline to possibly help get better mph and for it to burn slightly more clean (because hydrogen does burn clean). But, that still doesn't mean free energy is coming out of nowhere and there is no way that contraption can generate enough hydrogen gas to fully run that engine by itself at any speed. It just can not happen. I also suspect that while that seems to work like "magic" while sitting there idling, it will have very little effect while driving because while the consumption of fuel will go way up while driving the amp produced from the alt. will stay the same and not produce enough hydrogen to make much difference. Keep in mind, you don't get any mpg while sitting and idling - you get gallons per hour with 0 miles.

Also of note, while that guy was bragging about how clean the truck was running, it seemed to suck down 8oz of gas very quickly in both situations and that was just idling. That thing must get about 4 mpg on the highway. Shocking for a little 6 banger.

    Essentially, yes.

At one time, everyone thought Galileo was crazy, a fool, was barking up the wrong tree or whatever cutesy little saying you want to use. Henry Ford was an idiot also in the beginning as were the Wright brothers.

The best inventions have always begun by someone/some people not believing in the status quo and trying to figure out a better way to make the mousetrap.

So what if the HHO costs more energy to get than it gives. People are figuring it out and someone, one of these "explorers" will find the solution through serendipity or trial and error. These people have motivation to find a solution.

To depend on the oil companies and car manufacturers to come up with a solution is much more stupid in my mind than those who are working for a feasible alternative.

The method that the initial poster suggests is not possible according to the laws of physics. Nobody said exploring alternative fuel sources was bad. Get off your box and see what this is about.

It's not at all difficult to make your own hydrogen. It's a process called electrolysis of water. The problem is stopping the hydrogen from slipping through your tank- thr atoms will slip through even uranium. Thus, the hydrogen has to be liquid. This can be achieved by extremely low temperatures. Hydrogen's boiling point (where it changed from liquid to gas) is 423 Fahrenheit at normal pressure. This point can be raised by pressurizing it.

My older brother is retired, has a small machine shop and is currently trying to build one of these hydrogen generators. He was in the car business for 50 years and a damn good wrench. I'm skeptical....he's convinced it'll work. I guess time will tell. Right now he and a buddy of his have this device plumbed into a V-6 S-10 truck somehow. So far I haven't heard anything about success. So.......C9, if yer listening there in Kingman, if you hear a big explosion over there just off Airway Ave........might be them, keep your head down.

Get back to me when you build a hydrogen bomb, that would be impressive!

So I guess the Acetone mixed with fuel mileage gains internet-hype from a little while ago has passed quietly and things are getting more elaborate now.

It seems like new generations keep digging up the many failed experiments and patented devices of the past only to find out we have not really gotten a lot smarter since.
Maybe some very basic and universal laws about science, physics and chemistry just can't be re-written regardless how much time has passed since they were discovered....?

Some would say along with losing common sense we probably are also regressing with our ideas.
'Doing the impossible' nowadays seems more like another internet-inspired 'me-too' fantasy, rather than something that could genuinely change the world.

  27. Dahhh- so many things to consider, and it gets emotionally-charged. I want to add my proverbial 2 cents. I have a little experience with hydrogen, a little knowledge overall, and there may be some errors in what I say here, so correct me if I'm wrong (Don't misread this as me trying to come off as smart):
    • Hydrogen does not always burn "clean" in an engine. It depends on the air-to-fuel ratio. The temperature of combustion combined with the nitrogen in the air produces nitric oxides (NOx). I believe NOx is a big part of the brown component of smog. Alternative fuels tend to be labeled as "clean" or "clean-burning", but most if not all have some emission that is considered bad. For hydrogen to burn "clean" in an engine it is run at ~50% of stoich, meaning ~50% less power. In other words, if you run hydrogen at stoich, it'll produce a lot of NOx.
    • H-bomb, Hindenburg, and hydrogen are not synonymous. "They" say something about the Hindenburg's fabric dope, the diesel fuel, and that the hydrogen burned up and away from the ship. An H-bomb is something completely different from hydrogen fuel.
    • Praxair and other industrial gas companies: You might be right, but where I worked with hydrogen components a ton more money was spent on helium as the test gas.
    • I probably forgot something I meant to say
    • I need a nap
    Thanks,
    Kurt

my cousin has been experimenting with this at college in many different directions, actully has it on its truck.

he is familar with the guy shown in the video and said that he misteriously came up dead.

you can youtube hho and come up with more info.

    11 pages of this.

You want to save money on gas do what I did works ever time!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Buy a Honda.

Ive still got gas pigs, I like gas pigs, but I don't have to feed them every day.

The Honda gets great gas mileage and the young girls are always checking me out. I think there disappointed though when they realize I'm a fat bald 40 year old.

I know you have more than one car, I have 5, just make one a small car.
