Technical Alternator alignment issue

    Both the original and after market brackets are short by about 2". Gonna go git some flat stock and see if I can mimic the original bracket somewhat but with 8" between the two bends

    Why not bolt the generator bracket back in place, set the new bracket on the top edge in the right place and tack weld the two together, take it off, add a small gusset or two as needed, finish weld it, and you would be good to go.

    I don't want a homemade looking bracket. But I do see the "objective" here is advice on making "do". That generator bracket is pretty basic and doesn't look so bad. I would use black pipe to fill space between the two ends and give the alt some support will post pics later on what I come up with.
